Training

September 23 - Regular Training Night

This Wednesday will be a regular training night. Arrival time is 1830hrs at Béatrice-Desloges Catholic High School. Dress is C5 (FTU).

If you can't attend a training night for any reason, please fill out the notice of absence form

Cadets who attended the following activities are to submit their completed checklist items by September 23, so that they may be credited towards their level qualification requirements and considered for promotion eligibility at the upcoming CO's Parade in September.

Community Service Activity

The following activities may count toward the Community Service requirement:

GACA BBQ
Marie-France Lalonde Corn Roast
Queenswood Heights Family Fun Day

CAF Engagement Activity OR 9 Periods of Elemental Training

Cadets who attended the AERO Gatineau Air Show may count it toward their CAF Engagement Activity requirement or receive credit for 9 periods of Elemental Training.

CAF Engagement Activity

Cadets who attended the Battle of Britain Ceremony may count it toward their CAF Engagement Activity requirement.

Clubs

Band

Now open to new members! Cadets in the band program meet weekly to practice their playing and theory skills, and apply their knowledge by participating in squadron and local parades, as well as regional band activities.

When: Mondays, 18:15 to 21:00
Where: Cafeteria (Béatrice-Desloges Secondary School)
Dress: Civilian attire

Bring your music sheets, instruments, notebook and a pen/pencil!

Glider Familiarization Day - Sept. 27

Time: 0730-1700 hrs
Location: Smiths Falls/Montague Airport (YSH), Smiths Falls, ON K7A 4S6
Food: Not provided, please bring a lunch
Transport: Provided from Béatrice-Desloges Catholic Secondary School, 1999 Provence Ave., Orléans, ON K4A 3Y6
Dress: Civilian, adjusted to weather conditions as most of the day will be outdoors.

Senior Cadet Training Day - Sept. 26

Attention Senior Cadets! Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 26 for our upcoming Senior Cadet Training Day (Camp Odyssey)! Open to Level 4+

This will be a full day dedicated to developing your leadership, teamwork, and instructional skills while preparing for a successful training year ahead. Expect activities, challenges, and opportunities to connect with your fellow seniors. This is a day you won't want to miss! If you are unable to attend for the entire day, please still sign up and attend for the portion of the day that you are available.

Location: Roy Hobbs Community Centre (109 Larch Crescent)
Timings: 0900hrs to 1630 hrs
Dress: Civilian attire
Lunch is provided.

Supply

Supply is now accepting uniform exchange requests. Send your requests to 2Lt Meed and include the following info:

Name, rank and level
The item you wish to exchange
The size you need. If you don't know the size please include a picture of the label and if you require a size taller (height) or wider (ex. waist size)

It may take several weeks if we need to order the size you need. We'll let you know when your item ready to be exchanged.

Cadets who have submitted a uniform exchange request for items that no longer fit and are awaiting replacement uniform parts are to wear their issued elemental navy blue T-shirt with black pants. They are not authorized to attend training in civilian clothing of their choice, unless given permission.

For cadets not returning to cadets, please return the washed uniforms to the supply table on Wednesday nights between 6:30pm and 9pm, starting September 9th.

Seniors: Please return the lanyards, white belts and gloves from last year. We will redistribute once parade positions are confirmed.

Fall Walk-a-thon - October 3 (rain or shine)

We are excited to host this major cadet-driven fundraiser that directly supports the incredible experiences our cadets enjoy! Fundraise all month and then enjoy a fall walk (6.32 kms) along the beautiful Ottawa river!

Meeting location: Roy G. Hobbs. Community Centre Park (805 Champlain St., Orleans)
Time: Please arrive at 9:00 am for sign-in and instructions. Walk starts at 9:30 am.

Sewing service is back - Cost of $3 per item

***Sewing service will pause this week and will return on September 30****

The Sponsoring Committee is offering a sewing service for all cadets who have need one of the following:

Badges for blue tunics (DEU).
Velcro for the name tapes for the green FTU.
Service bars and rosettes for Air Cadet Service medals and ribbons.
Wedge points.

Service is first-come, first-served.

Please include the cash, item to be sewn and your name in the pocket of your uniform. The item should also be clean and in a bag when you drop it off. All proceeds go back to support the Squadron.
