Training
November 4 - Regular training night
This Wednesday will be a regular training night. Arrival time is 18h30 at Béatrice-Desloges Catholic High School. Dress is C5 (FTU).
The Multi-Media Club will be meeting during Period 2 in classroom 225.
If you can't attend a training night for any reason, please fill out the notice of absence form.
Parent Pick-Up Reminder
Parents and guardians are asked to use the designated parking lot and avoid stopping or parking in a manner that blocks traffic flow.
Cadets are permitted to exit the building through the main entrance. Parents should only be in the roadway when actively picking up their cadet. While waiting for dismissal, please remain in the large parking lot located to the south of the school (the parking lot on the right as you enter the school property).
Your cooperation helps ensure a safe and efficient departure process for all cadets, families, and other users of the facility. Thank you for your support and consideration.

Supply
Supply is now accepting uniform exchange requests. Send your requests to 2Lt Meed and include the following info:

Name, rank and level

The item you wish to exchange
-
The size you need. If you don't know the size please include a picture of the label and if you require a size taller (height) or wider (ex. waist size)
It may take several weeks if we need to order the size you need. We'll let you know when your item ready to be exchanged.
Cadets who have submitted a uniform exchange request for items that no longer fit and are awaiting replacement uniform parts are to wear their issued elemental navy blue T-shirt with black pants. They are not authorized to attend training in civilian clothing of their choice, unless given permission.
Uniform Reminder - Wear of the Poppy
The annual Poppy Campaign begins on October 24 and continues through Remembrance Day on November 11. During this period, cadets are expected to wear a poppy properly on their uniform as a sign of remembrance and respect for those who have served Canada. If you would like to wear your blue uniform to school for Remembrance Day, please request permission from the CO by email by sending a request 632aviation@cadets.gc.ca. Please include rank, full name, and the school you are attending and what you will be doing as part of the ceremony.
Optional training
Air Cadet Day - November 14
What makes rockets fly? How can I get my team-building activity? Where can I learn to improve my uniform? If you've asked yourself these questions, have no fear! Air Cadet Day is here!
This is a full-day of activities to familiarize cadets with important elements of the programs while checking some items off your training checklist, like 9 periods of elemental training and team-building! New cadets are strongly encouraged to attend, as it provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable training. As well as cadets who are missing elemental training from previous levels checklists are also encouraged to attend. Register here.

CAF Familiarization and Military Traditions Activity - November 29
Every day, cadets take part in a traditional mess dinner. It involves following certain military traditions while you share a meal with your fellow cadets. A $20 deposit will be collected to confirm your meal. The deposit will be refunded to you at the event. Watch the video below (filmed last year) to learn the do's and don'ts of a cadet mess dinner! This activity counts towards your CAF Engagement checklist item.

Drill Team
Open to all who are interested regardless of level or knowledge! Drill team practice starts on Tuesday, November 3rd. Come out to learn more about basic and advanced drill movements, command calling, or improve what you already know!

Thank you, 632!
Last Wednesday a group of cadets put together 100 Halloween treat bags complete with toothbrushes for Belong Ottawa, a drop-in center in Centretown for vulnerable communities.
When the officers dropped off the packages at the Centre, the energy instantly picked up as they unwrapped their candies and read the notes of support written by cadets. One visitor even shared how this was especially meaningful to her because her son was once a cadet, too. The center's visitor and volunteers send their heartfelt thanks to 632!

On the donation page scroll right to the very bottom to Other Canadian Registered Charities and enter 632 Orleans (or our charity number: 123613523RR0028) in the box, then click search.

Enter the amount in the Air Cadet League of Canada, 632 Orleans Squadron box and complete the Donation Details as per the instructions on the web pages.

Sewing service is on this week - Cost of $3 per item
The Sponsoring Committee is offering a sewing service this Wednesday for all cadets who have need one of the following sewn:

Badges for blue tunics.

Velcro for the name tapes for the green FTU.

Service bars and rosettes for Air Cadet Service medals and ribbons.

Wedge points.
Please include the cash, item to be sewn and your name in the pocket of your uniform. The item should also be clean and in a bag when you drop it off. Remember to pick up any items dropped off in previous weeks.
All proceeds go back to support the Squadron.
Bottle drive - Thank you
The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) would like to thank everyone for supporting the bottle drive. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $428 including over $250 in cash and tap donations. Every dollar raised will be used to support cadet activities and supplies.
A big thank you to our volunteers who helped sort and transport empties. A special recognition for our rocket mascot who brought dancing and energy to the event.
Look for our next bottle drive after the holiday seasonal break in January. In the meantime, please save your empties.
